Swine influenza is a respiratory disease normally found in pigs but human cases can and do happen. Cases of swine influenza have now been confirmed in many countries around the world including the UK.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has raised its flu pandemic alert level to Phase 6. This reflects the fact that there are now ongoing community level outbreaks of swine flu in many parts of world.

Welcome to the website of the Lancashire Resilience Forum (LRF). One of the key
requirements of The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 was for Category 1 and Category 2 responders to form a 'Local Resilience Forum'
based on Police areas. In Lancashire, this is known as the Lancashire Resilience
Forum.
The LRF allows responders access to a forum to consult, collaborate and disclose
information with each other to facilitate planning and response to emergencies,
and produce the Community Risk Register.
The LRF is chaired by the Assistant Chief Constable of Lancashire Constabulary.
The LRF meets twice a year and senior representatives of all Category 1 and Category
2 Responders are invited to attend.
The main work of the LRF is carried out by various thematic sub-groups, who report
to the LRF General Purposes Group.
